MBC has a long history of reaching out to the people of our town, to surrounding communities and to various parts of the world. During the last 100 years this has led to a number of churches being started across the region and to people being commissioned to serve in many nations around the globe. Outreach - or 'mission' is at the heart of who we are. Commissioned by Jesus to be good news to our neighbours, and to share that good news in appropriate and relevant ways with those willing to recieve it, we are committed to becoming an inside-out church; loving God, loving one another, and loving those who do not know Christ. Over the years our commitment to caring for our community has led to the formation of a variety of activities and services that ranges from feeding the hungry and helping the distressed, through to providing a kindergarten, and budgeting advice. We are not a social services provider as such, but recognise our responsibility to care for our community. And whilst we believe God has a bias towards the poor, and so should we, we also recognise there are many important and worthy services we can provide for our town that are also practical demonstrations of God's Kingdom at work in the here and now. Check out our: Kindergarten, Budgeting Advice, Food Bank, Practical Support (particularly for the elderly, widows and solo parents) We have a specialised charitable trust, Ezekiel Trust, that provides the legal and financial framework for those parts of our community care that require this. If you have a particular need please don't wait any longer. Contact us to see if we can help. Similarly, if you have something to offer (food, finances, furniture, footwear, fabric...) or can give time to help others, we would love to hear from you too. Check out our page on world mission. Our committment to reaching out does not stop at the boundary of Morrinsville, or even the Waikato. We are called to the world... |
